i am very new to the site and i'm sure there is a learning curve, so please bear with me.
i have looked around a little and find the site very interesting and encouraging so far.
it is heartwarming to meet other people with questions or experiences who can relate them without needing to hide behind blatant negativity or automatic judgemental attitudes.
Yes, welcome!!! Rockhound and I have found this forum very therapudic, as I'm sure you will. If you go to the archives there is a world of imformation that will probably help answer many questions. Glad to have you with us. Wishing you and yours success with your family. It took nearly 4 years for our family to come out, although some havn't as yet, but the wait was well worth it. Good LUCK!

Someone posted a copy of the letter sent to the elders which confirmed the cancellation of the offer for January. Lady Liberty has a good copy of the letter that we've personally seen. I don't recall who posted this information last week, but according to this letter it definitely has been cancelled.

hello dear friends.... well..the saga continues!!
as many of you know last new years the jws attacked our "frosty" and egged our home.
" the co said, "so you are both not willing to meet with the elders..?".
Way to go Lady Liberty and Black Pearl. The CO won't soon forget that experience. Guess sis and us will probably be next. Think Thomas Covenant's comment would be good to remember (no we're not celebrating, just hoping all these decorations would get your attention so you'd come to answer our questions on 607, and btt, what of the pedophile issue). Don't think you'll have to worry about harrassment, they wanted an excuse to df vocal appostates and now they have it.
We havn't seen a JW at our door for nearly 6 years but wouldn't be surprised if they finish the "witch-hunt" now. I'm keeping a note by the door with my a few of my main issues (of dozens and dozens). Pedophiles being hidden; Blood fractions (dad died because of the blood issue); Dishonesty for everything including misquotes so they can keep the 607/1914 date; United Nations involvement. Won't have much time to talk so will mention just a few .

Just went to the "official" WT website and looking at publications/brochures, couldn't find the Keep on the Watch brochure listed. Also of note, on the educational videos, all dealing with Children are "no longer available". Still hoping someone will have a copy of the letter that was read concerning the cancellation of the Dec-Jan offer of the Keep on the Watch brochure. Did anyone else hear that announcement in their congs?

If anyone can get a copy to scan of the letter that was read regarding the cancellation of the "Keep on the Watch" offer, it'd be put to very good use. I'm helping someone else gather this information and will let you know if anything comes of it.

Thanks for the help. Found an interesting side note on page 30, where it says covering serious sins would be wrong, and to allow gross sinners to continue huting or victimizing innocent ones would be unloving!

so i noticed a man who works in the same building as me has been carrying around his new world translation bible.

I think for the time being, his not knowing you are behind the "letters" is a good idea, otherwise he will steer clear of you completely.
What about leaving a note with: "type in your search engine: watchtower research" ?
Why does the WT want very young children to baptize, being one of the most important decisions they'll ever make, yet says dating and marriage are only for the mature, older ones?
Why do Jehovah's Witnesses really take blood? If they are to pour the blood on the ground, how can they make the fractions used every day by JW's? And why can they use these fractions from stored blood, but can't donate blood for others use?
The Hebrew scriptures says "you are my witnesses" in Isaiah. The context is clearly speaking about the nation of Israel. Why do JW's take this verse out of context and apply it to themselves, when the Greek, NT, clearly tells us to be witnesses of Jesus in Acts 1:8?
